Susan and Allen are getting married!!!

On March 16, 2005, Susan and I went out to California to visit Yosemite National Park. I had to be in San Francisco on business the following week, so Susan came along and we headed out there a few days early to visit the park.

At around 5:00 AM Eastern, Airbrook picked us up from our house in a nice stretch Limo. I played it off as if I had no clue and I got an upgrade for traveling so much. We got out to the park around 2:00 PM Pacific. We drove around and saw various waterfalls and took short hikes. At around 4:30 PM, we checked into our hotel and Susan was ready to call it a day. I pressed her to come with me to Yosemite Falls, at least to the lower portion. She finally agreed.

When we got up there it was around 5:30 PM. I was taking several photos waiting for other people to visit so that I could ask somebody to take our picture. Finally, a British couple came by with their two children. I asked the man to take our picture with my camera. I handed the lady Susan's camera. Prior to giving it to her, I switched it to video mode. I said to the lady, "If you could please just press the button and get close. I have a ring in my pocket and she has NO idea." The lady agreed and I walked back over to Susan. Susan told me I was being a pain and that they didn't need to use both cameras. The lady said, "Are you ready?" We both responded with a yes. As the lady got closer, Susan whispered, "What is she doing?" That was my queue! I got down on one knee and then Susan asked me, "What are YOU doing?"

I asked her to marry me and she said yes!
